Style of the City reviews this luxurious restaurant in Cardiff Bay.
On a bustling but bright afternoon I decided to lunch and review the newest addition to St David’s Voco Spa and Hotel Tir A Môr.
Tir A Môr meaning Land and Sea in welsh, opens it doors to welcome all those wanting to indulge a sensational dining experience. There’s no better name for the restaurant as you gaze into the sea whilst tucking in to Wales’ freshest and finest produce. The kitchen puts a modern twist on the country’s culinary heritage. A highly acclaimed, landmark luxury five star hotel on Cardiff Bay, with iconic architecture, the award winning spa at St David’s and destination dining, you can relax and gaze across the waterfront.
The food was beautifully prepared with rich and mouthwatering flavours. For a starter the Smoked haddock, salmon and spring onion fishcake, poached egg, lemon and dill crème fraîche was mouth-wateringly good. A dish to talk about at dinner parties. Fresh and light but still enough to keep you full. Added to the side was a small portion of peppers and cress which added to the presentation and was magnificent.
The haddock, a mild but slightly sweet dish with a colourful display of healthy greens on the side. The sauce added the extra sweetness as well as a fresh mint flavour. Healthy balanced meal full of the right stuff to keep the day going. All fresh and cooked beautifully.
Staff went above and beyond at all times to make sure everything was peaceful and relaxing, not to mention enjoyable. The scenery was breathtaking and the decor was clearly thought out and made beautifully.
It was overall a sensational experience.
