A new Welsh fashion brand business has been born through lockdown in the Welsh capital to empower and inspire women to look and feel fabulous.
Wenda James-Rowe and Luna Amani have been the best of friends for many years and lockdown seemed to be the perfect time to launch their business.
Both women have a love for all things fashion with Wenda a Fashion Stylist and Body Confidence Guru and Luna as an established Fashion and Accessory designer.
“Myself and Luna have spoken about launching a brand for many years. With my work as a Fashion Stylist and Luna being a fashion and accessory designer for leading high street brands, it seemed the perfect opportunity to launch Soul Sisters in a time when everyone can benefit from looking and feeling good whilst also spreading some female empowerment and kindness. We are very passionate about helping women look and feel fabulous and this is at the heart of the brand and it’s core values,” said Wenda.
Luna states: “The Soul Sisters debut launch collection is made up of a range of empowering t-shirts and sweatshirts designed to be uplifting and fun to wear. The collection is aptly named C’est Chic and takes it’s inspiration from queens of disco and Studio 54 Donna Summer and Diana ross.We want our customers to love our range and enjoy wearing them and for them to be a key part of their wardrobes.
They are 100% organic cotton and are printed in Cardiff by Visible Art. Visible Art are sustainable screen printers, using eco dyes and state of the art processes which help towards saving the planet.”
Tom from Visible Art commented: “Here at Visible Art, we believe it’s vitally important to monitor our impact on the environment. We have endeavoured where possible to become a more environmentally friendly printer and in 2018 we launched our Green Promise, which we are incredibly proud of. It’s great to see local like minded businesses working together in these difficult times.”
The range launched in Cardiff in Dec 2020 and has been well received across Wales, the UK and further afield and is available to buy online through Etsy and Instagram. The girls are currently looking at a number of collaborations in the UK and US with fashion bloggers and retailers and plan to increase the range on a regular basis.
Their next collection will be their first US collaboration and will be launched in time for International Women’s Day on March 8th 2021.
The brand is also supporting and making a donation of sales to Women’s Aid and The Go Girl Academy. Both organisations support the empowerment and well being of women.
