The Cold Room, Newport’s newest wellness spot, is set to open this April, offering treatments that can’t be found anywhere else in the area.
Cryotherapy, which is very popular in the wellness space right now, will be available for guests to book from opening day. Aimed at improving circulation and energy levels, as well as reduce inflammation and boost your mood, Cryotherapy is a short, intense treatment that is popular with gym-goers, busy professionals, and those who need a physical or mental reset. In addition to bringing this treatment to Newport for all the use, the chamber also fits two-people, a unique experience that’s rare to find in Wales.
Other treatments include:
- Sunlighten Tri-Wave Infrared Sauna: Perfect for skin clarity, collagen boosting and stress relief, the infrared sauna works deep beneath the skin’s surface to support detoxification and rejuvenation.
- Body Ballancer® Lymphatic Drainage: mimicking the techniques of manual lymphatic drainage, this treatment helps to flush out toxins, reduce puffiness and leave you feeling lighter and more energised.

The Cold Room was born after its founder, Julian Phillips wanted to create a space for everyone to relax and reset after juggling busy schedules. He comments:
