Metro Bank Becomes a Cardiff Conference Ambassador

The UK’s community bank, Metro Bank, has joined business leaders and academics in Cardiff to become a Cardiff Conference Ambassador.

The Cardiff Conference Ambassador network is a city-wide partnership administered by Cardiff Council’s Meet in Cardiff team and supported by commercial tourism partners, the business and academic community and Invest in Cardiff. The Meet in Cardiff team provides a range of free services to help conference organisers plan their next event in Cardiff such as venue finding, conference bids, source venues, organise accommodation and arrange suppliers and social programmes.

The role of Cardiff Conference Ambassadors is to work with Meet in Cardiff to promote the strengths of Cardiff as a city to do business and to influence companies to bring national and international business events to the capital city. Business events don’t just bring revenue for city tourism businesses but this valuable business sector also helps to showcase Cardiff and attract investment as well as delegates and visitors.

“As a community bank, we want to be part of any initiative that helps celebrate all the communities – business and consumer – that make up Cardiff,” explains Cardiff Metro Bank’s local director, Khushboo Patel. “We are a hub for these communities – hosting business, student and consumer events in store – but we will be working harder and on a national scale to help to bring business events to Cardiff and support the local economy. We have started by participating in the first video explaining why conference organisers should choose Cardiff.

Metro Bank’s Cardiff store can be found at 40 to 44 Queen Street, Cardiff, CF10 2BX. The store is currently open Monday – Saturday 08:30am – 6pm. Sunday: 11am – 5pm.
