Nothing is what it seems in this stunning Afternoon Tea, modelled on Leeser´s colourful precious stones, rings and earrings. These gleaming jewels look deceptively real; the chocolates and bonbons are exact replicas of original gemstones which is what makes this Afternoon Tea a completely unique and indulgent experience.
The Waldorf Astoria, Amsterdam, has acquired a reputation for unrivalled creativity in its themed Afternoon Tea, and this latest venture really takes their mastery to the next level. It was a challenging step for the team of chefs to produce refined patisserie, that translates humble ice creams from edible beach treats into mouth-watering jewels. Executive Sous Chef, Tomas Bron: ¨We always want to exceed expectations with our creative items. It was a wonderfully inspiring process to reproduce the gorgeous jewellery collection as closely as possible and at the same time, for every creation, design a refined, complementary flavour for the patisserie.¨ The Choices By DL Afternoon Tea includes, among other savoury delights, a cornet with tuna, wasabi and furikake; a tartlet with chicken liver and red pepper; an egg and truffle sandwich; and delicious sweets in the form of a champagne and raspberry pearl, coconut and blueberry profiterole, a fig and honey madeleine, a financier of tangerine and pure chocolate, mixed berry cupcakes with violets, and golden lemon meringue tart. This is definitely a menu with something for everyone to enjoy.
