What’s on in Cardiff this Christmas –

Cardiff Christmas markets –
Returning this year on Thursday 14th November till Monday 23rd of December is Cardiff’s Christmas markets, open in the heart of the city for over a month you have plenty of time to experience these gorgeous wooden huts filled with exciting surprises. The markets are being run by independent businesses and are filled with original handmade work making this experience unique, you will be able to purchase items that won’t be sold anywhere else as well as supporting Cardiff born businesses. The markets are one of the best places to purchase Christmas presents for all your family, with a wide selection of stalls’ there is something for everyone. Not only is Cardiff Christmas markets the best place to shop for Christmas presents it is also an amazing way to spend a festive day, you can start your day by heading down one of Cardiff’s extraordinary arcades to grab some breakfast before heading to the markets where you can meet independent business owners and learn their incredible story’s, browse at the wonderful selection of stalls before stopping in the festive and cosy bar to warm up by the fireplace and have one of the best hot chocolates in Wales, when you are all shopped out and hungry you can grab some food from one of the many food stall’s that are offered at the markets, this may even be your chance to try something new, and then you can finish your magical day by watching one of the incredible street artist performances going on around the markets. Christmas at Bute Park –
Starting on the 22nd November till the 31st December is Bute Park’s award-winning Christmas light trail where you can step into a different world for a couple of hours. This experience is magical and this year it has been completely reimagined, the displays that have been created in this beautiful trail have been created by many different incredible artists across Cardiff. As well as getting to experience the unforgettable display of lights you won’t get to see anywhere else, Bute Park also has a cosy Christmas village where you can eat many different styles of street food from a smoking griddle stall to a chock shop stall there is options for everyone. The Christmas village is at the start of the Christmas lights trail meaning you can fill up on tasty food and mulled wine before walking it off looking at all the unique light displays; the whole experience is the perfect family evening out or date night and it is unmissable. Winter Wonderland Cardiff –
Cardiff Winter Wonderland opening on the 14th November is the perfect way to spend a festive evening, this unmissable experience has many different attractions for all the family to take part in. Winter wonderland transforms Cardiff Castle into a winter escape, where you can explore a unique ice trail that circles around the castles grounds while you skate under the stars in the crisp Christmas air, if skating outside is not for you, there is also an undercover ice rink that will be a warmer but still joyful experience. The ice bar is an amazing highlight of Winter Wonderland offering a unique experience like no other, enjoy having a drink in a bar where you are surrounded by carved ice and themed sculptures transforming the space into a magical glistening world. You can venture down the unique arcades to see what twinkling lights are lighting up the alleys at night, you can wonder down to the castle to see how the famous Cardiff Christmas tree has been decorated or you can look around the heart of the city centre to see the beautiful twinkling lights above your head.
