Blue is the new black – The best beauty blues on the high street

Last week, SOTC’s Brooke discussed the new trend adorning our eyes this season. Like me, most people are cringing, repressing the memories and hazy days of crimped hair, shell suits, frosted lipstick and blue eyeshadow (with bright blue lashes thrown in for fun). Let’s not forget the hair mascara, which stained our locks for weeks. So much for washing out, am I right?

When it came to make up, blue was the boss. I fondly remember my Cover Girl individual blue powder pot that I would plaster on my lids whilst listening to my Bros album on my hi-fi.

With Rihanna rocking the blues at this year’s Coachella, this might be 2018’s boldest beauty look.

However, don’t go digging around for your ancient pharmacy palettes just yet. We know it’s been festering at the bottom of your make up collection, and trust us, it might be better off there. This revival has seen some twists on the original shade, so I then went out to Cardiff city centre to check out the hues.

If like us, you were slightly gutted that Kim Kardashian’s palette (you know, the one with that shade of electric blue) sold out within the first week, these might just cheer you up. So much for feeling blue.

From aqua to cobalt, here are some of my favorites on our local high street now…
