Bar 44 Tapas Bar
15-23 Westgate Street, CF10 1DD
Monday-Thursday & Sunday 11:30am – 11pm
Friday & Saturday 11:30am – 12am

A former canal warehouse, Bar 44 Westgate Street is split up into four separate subterranean rooms with arched brick ceilings which enhance the buzzing atmosphere central to all great tapas bars. Their Spanish tiled bar is just one spot that would make a great Instagram pic.

The layout also enabled owners Tom and Owen to highlight some of their favourite aspects of Spanish culture: There is an open kitchen “La Despensa” where the focus is on hand-carved Bellota Jamon and the finest Spanish cheeses in one room and in another it is all about the sherry! Bar 44 Cardiff is the only venue in the UK which pours three different sherries from full-sized barrels behind the bar.

This tapas bar is designed to showcase the huge variety of quality Spanish produce available. All the menus are a reflection of Tom and Owen’s travels across Spain, from Galician beef to San Lucar prawns and Carmona Olives to aged Manzanilla sherry, the list goes on and on.
