Starry Meadow, the festival-inspired pop-up glamping site is delighted to welcome you back for its third year at Raquety Farm this August! After two roaringly successful first years in 2020 and 2021 – this magical event is returning to Hay-on-Wye to host an even more refined and enchanting family glamping experience. Set in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons – expect luxury bell tents, fluttering flags and bunting, even more deli-cious street-food, more activities for kids, teens and adults – and of course the twinkling star-lit evenings accompanied by storytelling and acoustic music round the campfire. All this while the kids can run wild and free in idyllic safe surroundings.
“For the feel of a festival without the ticket prices, try Starry Meadow. Think fluttering flags and music around the campfire!”
Evening Standard
With its unique festival vibe and super-friendly family atmosphere, this spacious site offers laid-back afford-able luxury with boutique bell tents which sleep up to 4 (plus 2 children). All are kitted out with super com-fortable beds and furnishings are carefully distanced from each other to provide a private relaxed but inti-mate retreat. The site boasts hot showers, a ‘Star Bar’ to enjoy local craft beer, a nightly cinema tent and plenty of free activities on site such as crafts, games room fun, live music and DJs. The haybale mountain will be even bigger this year following its huge popularity last year. On offer are an exciting array of local activities to enjoy, which will include archery, canoeing, cathartic willow crafting (courtesy of the creative Heather Dickens from Hay), pony riding (again a huge hit!), bushcraft and guest artist workshops. There will also be a specially designed new teenage hangout and high-octane outdoor laser tag games for the older kids (and adults!)
“Sleep under the stars, splash in the river, climb the mountain, toast marshmallows and let your children run free”

Glamping Wales began in 2014 to help meet the demand for accommodation at the nearby Hay Literature Festival. The aim was to provide as close an experience to the one they provide at Wye Glamping as possi-ble, but on a pop-up site. They offer a warm welcome, cosy beds, breakfast and above all a great location for access to the festival.
Founders Diane and Al are event professionals who have been running a successful Glamping site in Wales for the last 9 years. They combine this knowledge, with their experience of staging events and hosting glampers to produce a unique family friendly campsite’.
Al is a sound engineer/designer and Diane’s background is in Stage Management and Technical Theatre. They’ve both worked at many festivals and events.
