Let The Face Boss guide you through one of the biggest looks this season – The Blood Red Lip.

Christmas party looks should be easy enough for all of us to do! The festive season is swiftly approaching, bringing with it a host of parties and get-togethers, and so the focus is firmly on looking fabulous.

One thing that is always on the top of our list to looking great, along with the perfect outfit, is on-point makeup. And a festive bold red lip is an easy and fast update which will really brighten your face and update your look.

In the trend stakes, Fashion Week absolutely smashed it this year: there were strong makeup catwalk looks featuring the red lip that could be incorporated into real life; and so, continued to inspire us for our festive look this season. Spicing up your party makeup look is always a big thing and should be exciting!

Influences and ideas for new looks abound at this time of year, whether from makeup counters demonstrating new techniques, or television, magazine and billboard advertisements showcasing the latest products; it’s difficult to escape the fashion-feed!

My must-have party look is the Blood Red Lip. I love this, whether it’s with a full-on smoky eye – or working it with a stripped back minimalist eye – it never fails.

One of the best reds out there is MAC Ruby Woo (£16.50) but if you’re visiting in-store, ask the assistant to find your perfect red, as this will depend on your individual skin tone. Pair this with glowing full coverage skin, for the perfect understated look, with Nars Sheer Glow Foundation (£33) and add an amazing touch of highlighter, using the absolute babe, Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Glow (£26). If you’re leaning towards a smouldering smoky eye, then make sure to start with a good primer, try the MAC range. A great compact eyeshadow palette that slots perfectly into your clutch bag is Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette – The Rock Chick (£39) And to finish, an absolute delight for anyone who is looking for faux mink eyelashes – check out www.bosslashes.co.uk for fantastic quality in a range of cruelty-free styles.
