Easter Eggstravaganza

Easter is one of the oldest Christian holidays on record. It is celebrated globally either with older traditions that include celebrating the resurrection of Jesus with Holy Week and lent or through newer traditions like tracking the Easter bunny or decorating Easter eggs.

Here are a few amazing activities that welcome all ages in the family.

Treetops Extraordinary Easter- £5-£48

Forces of Nature: Easter Holiday Club -Free

Open on Wednesday the 5th of April at 10:30am till the 12th of April 12pm, families of all ages are welcome to explore the grounds, of Railway Gardens Adeline Street in Cardiff, with an amazing treasure hunt and bring out creative sides in the nature crafts corner. Suitable for nursery and primary aged children with both wheelchair and pushchair access. Cafe open for food and hot beverages. Easter Club.

Mountain View Ranch- Family of 4 £34

Easter Family Trail, full of adventure and discovery. Walk along the Meadow and Woodland to find golden eggs hidden amongst natures beauty. The trail is about 3 hours long but families are more than welcome to take breaks in between. Opens from the 1st of April till the 16th. Tickets available now. Mountain Ranch.

The Big Museum Easter Trail- £4 each trail

All across the National Museums of Wales, there is a chance to become an Easter detective in search of bunny friends hiding around the museum. There will be three EGGciting challenges to complete, suitable for children aged 4 and over, younger ones may need assistance. In this £4 deal all children will get a chocolate treat and dairy free options included. Why not visit one of the museums listed and enjoy this extravaganza:

Bricklive Dino Discovery

This is a new exhibit arriving at St David’s Dewi Sant in Cardiff. Open on April 3rd till the 16th where you can explore you inner palaeontologist ideal for families with children aged 4-12. During this experience you will will toy brick models presented all around the trail. It’s fun and educational, the kids will love it!

Big Wild Easter Goose Egg Trail – £2 

Now if your children are not big animal fans then this isn’t for you, especially since this includes Geese. You will meet Gwen the Goose and help find her missing eggs which will be placed around Wetlands, Newport. Starts at 10am on the 9th of April until the 24th and is suitable for all ages, with wheelchair and pushchair access.

Royal Mint Easter Fun– £15

Now this is an experience for the little ‘ens. Royal Mint are holding a workshop where the children can make their own Easter chocolate lollipops or bunnies. They can decorate it how they want and take it home for them to enjoy. Tickets are limited to 16 children per workshop so get your way in quick. It’s a 45 minute session with and age range of 4 and other, younger ones may need assistance. It’s £15 per child, adults go free unless they want to take part with the child then that is also a £15 charge but it’s still super fun and smothered with sweetness.

Amelia Trust Farm 

Open on April 3rd until the 6th in Barry, this lovely Farm are hosting a world of different activities for all to enjoy. This is a chance to see all the animals and explore the woodland whilst playing in the park. There’s a trail for the children to follow which puts them in a chance to win chocolate prizes. They also have tractor rides, lawn games, face painting and much more.

Amelia Farm are also hosting ‘Teddy Bear Time’ which starts on the 13th of April at 12:30pm. Children will be able to choose the soft toy they create, name their teddy, and design and make a t-shirt to suit their bear. It’s a 2 hour session and they will leave with authentic certificate and themed activity pack. You must book in advance to attend this workshop.

On the 14th of April they will be holding another amazing activity where you will be able to see and pet some of their exotic animals. You will learn all about these animals which include:

  • A binturong (bearcat)
  • Meerkat
  • Armadillo
  • indigo snake and a blue tongue stick

Gower Fresh Christmas Trees- £9.95

Are you looking for family for family fun this Easter? Full of adventure and excitement? Then look no further than the Gowers Easter Eggstravaganza. Another Easter trail leading to prizes at the end. You must collect all the stamps to win, giving you the opportunity to explore the grounds and enjoy mini games dotted around the area. Talk about nostalgia there giant 90s games like Jenga, dominoes and 4 in a row. At the end there’s a flower arch waiting for you to take a picture which will souvenir your experience. There’s cute fuzzy animals waiting to be petted and fed and introduced such as their reindeer. For those who want more, they have a small funfair, a VR Roller Coasters, crafts corner, craft stalls, workshops and face painting. Let’s not forget unless food and beverage vans. There will be shows on display and an Easter bunny to meet.
