Superdrug launch ‘Purchase for Nurses’ to celebrate International Nurses day and fund Marie Curie Nurses in the community for one week

The Purchase for Nurses Campaign is supported by Actor Mei Mac

  • Superdrug will be donating £175k to fund Marie Curie Registered Nurses working in homes around the UK for a week
  • The initiative is part of Superdrug’s yearly Doing Good Feels Super campaign
  • Two thirds of people over 65 will be living with multiple health conditions by 2035

This year, Superdrug is celebrating International Nurses Day this May 2023 by raising £175k to fund the equivalent of all  Marie Curie Registered Nurses working in the Marie Curie Nursing Service for a week. The retailer’s ‘Purchase for Nurses’ campaign will see Superdrug stores and Superdrug.com run a series of product sale donations to raise money to help fund all 155 Marie Curie Registered Nurses.

Marie Curie Registered Nurses provide round the clock specialist care and that by 2035 two thirds of people over 65 will be living with multiple health conditions₁ meaning the need for Marie Curie nurses will only increase in the future.

The Call the Midwife and RSC’s My Neighbour Totoro Actor, Mei Mac, said “I’m proud to support our hard working Marie Curie nurses and the Superdrug ‘Purchase for Nurses’ campaign. We all hope our loved ones pass through the end of their life with compassionate care and I am endlessly grateful to the incredible work that nurses do. Please support this campaign in raising a much needed £175K for this essential charity work, so that Marie Curie can continue delivering their vital services to our loved ones and families during some of life’s most difficult times.”

Between now and 16th May 2023, Superdrug will be donating 2p for every cosmetic product sold to Marie Curie. The offer sits alongside other donations including:

  • 10p will be donated to Marie Curie for every pack of Allevia 120mg tablets, Opticrom Hayfever 10ml and Nasacort Allergy Relief sold in Superdrug or Superdrug.com until 16th May 2023
  • 10p will be donated from every pack of Buscopan IBS, BuscoMint and DulcoEase sold at Superdrug until 16th May 2023.
  • 10p will be donated across a number of Johnson & Johnson products, including the Benyadryl® range, Clean & Clear® range, Listerine® Naturals 500 ml range and the Piz Buin® range until 16th May 2023
  • Vitabiotics will donate 25p for every product sold across their range in Superdrug between 19th April to 16th May 2023
  • Nutrigums will donate £2 for every product sold at Superdrug until  16th May 2023
  • For every piercing that takes place at Superdrug’s Beauty Studios between now and 16th May 2023, Superdrug and Studex will  donate a total of 20p to Marie Curie
  • And on the 12th May, For every new Health & Beautycard registration Superdrug will donate £1 to Marie Curie.
