As temperatures are about to soar in South Wales this weekend, I am sure that many of us will be making that mad dash to B&Q to secure our summer 2018 barbecue.
After all, aren’t garden BBQ’s one of the greatest parts of summer? The grub, the chilled out vibe, the alfresco setting, friends and family — it’s what summer weekends ought to be made for.
And dissimilar to going out with the girls to a bar or for cocktails, there’s no need to doll up, get a blow-out, or even slap on full makeup. Summer is for being lethargic, and barbecues are all about idle entertaining — and idle dressing. Sure, from time to time I don’t even shower and get changed.
I simply throw on a sarong or kaftan, and without a fuss, head straight from the beach to the BBQ. However, when I do feel like getting glammed-up, it certainly does not need more thought than a tunic, top and skinny jeans, pretty shorts, or a floral tea dress. As for footwear? The easier the better. For me, it’s always a pair of trusty Converse or a colourful pair of flip flops. You can’t go wrong.
Here are some of my favourite BBQ get-up on the high street now.
